Terms of Use

Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using EgressIQ (“the app”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
What EgressIQ is — and isn't
EgressIQ is an informational tool that estimates basement egress window compliance against published building code criteria (NBC 2020, IRC R310, and supported provincial variants) using LiDAR-assisted and manual measurements you provide.
EgressIQ is not a substitute for a licensed home inspection, a professional survey, or a determination by your local authority having jurisdiction. LiDAR measurements are assistive only — every measurement must be verified with a tape measure before you rely on it for any real decision (a listing, an offer, a repair, or a legal determination). You are solely responsible for verifying compliance before acting on any result the app produces.
No warranty
The app and every report it generates are provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or that results will meet your jurisdiction's actual current requirements. Building codes change; jurisdiction packs in the app may not reflect the most recent amendments at all times.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, EgressIQ and its developer are not liable for any decision made, contract entered into, or loss incurred in reliance on the app's measurements, verdicts, or generated reports. Use of the app for any liability-sensitive purpose (a real estate transaction, a professional inspection report, a legal filing) is entirely at your own risk and subject to your own independent verification.
Purchases and subscriptions
Single-property reports and Pro/Enterprise subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. Pricing, billing cycles, renewals, and cancellations are governed by Apple's own terms and your App Store account settings — we do not process payments directly and cannot issue refunds ourselves.
Acceptable use
Don't use EgressIQ to misrepresent a property's compliance status, to circumvent the free-report limit through fraudulent means, or to submit false information through the contractor-connection or client-report features.
Opt-in data sharing
Features that transmit data off your device — AI training photo uploads, contractor connection requests, and emailing a report to a client — are opt-in or user-initiated. See our Privacy Policy for details on what each one sends and why.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of New Brunswick, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
